It’s all about YU
Warm greetings from the sunny islands of St Kitts and Nevis. First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read A World of Air Elite’s 4th volume.
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the exciting world of the Air Elite Network. I am truly honored to be a part of this association and to speak to you as Board Member of this wonderful network of global and independent FBOs, graciously supported by World Fuel Services.
One of the advantages of being part of the Air Elite Network and the constant support of World Fuel Services is that our FBOs engage directly with our very specific audience, including various flight departments and operators. Such a capability allows us to better promote our destination and services, while reinforcing collaboration over the network FBOs’ common goal to guarantee a high-quality, customer-oriented approach to handling operations. Moreover, with the FlyBuys™ Rewards Program, operators flying within network of FBOs in the Caribbean and Latin American regions have the advantage of being rewarded for their loyalty while maintaining their operational flexibility.
As the Air Elite Board Member representing the Caribbean and Latin American regions, my focus is to facilitate the communication and standardization in the quality of customer service and the sharing of creative and innovative ideas, while ensuring that good business practices remain within our core values.
The Caribbean and Latin American regions are significantly influenced by regional, social, economic and environmental factors, as well as, by the proximity to the United States. This past year, we all experienced the dreadful impact of the Zika virus which affected the ease of travel to our region. Air Elite played a significant role in handling these circumstances by assisting its members from multiple locations with knowledge/information sharing and updates for their based operators.
The YU Lounge, as a concept and a product, was established in 2008 with the opening of the first YU Lounge in Mauritius. This innovative product has been extremely well received by the customers, airlines and the travel trade. This has encouraged us to roll out such a concept worldwide with the second YU Lounge in operation in St Kitts since May 2014. The YU Lounge is a state-of-the-art, private terminal with fully integrated services. Passengers arrive at the YU Lounge and do the things that they want to do whilst our team members do what they must do to ensure our customers enjoy the convenience and comfort of our services. Airline check-in services, passport and customs control are all handled in-house, whilst our passengers make use of the lounge facilities, gourmet snacks, duty free purchases or simply chill out. Crew members have their dedicated rest and work areas to prepare for their next flight in the best possible conditions.
I invite you to visit our islands, St Kitts and Nevis, and experience all the comforts we provide. The country has embarked on a remarkable path of economic growth, with several initiatives that have brought in foreign direct investments. This country is poised to be the next St. Barth, with some exciting developments in real estate, leisure activities, hotels, and a super yacht harbor. With the advantage of having an airport that can handle large aircraft, land available to develop more ramp space, efficient government services, ease of access, no slot restrictions and being very well respected when it comes to complying with international norms in operations, St. Kitts & Nevis looks forward to becoming your future destination of choice.
